SAFETY & WELLNESS

KEEPING KIDS SAFE & HEALTHY

We believe that God made every person and because of that each person should be valued and protected.  Children, who are perhaps most vulnerable, deserve extra protection.  Because of this, Logos has taken the following safety measures:

  • We ask parents to abide by our health policy and love others by keeping their sick children home. If your child shows any of these symptoms or has had them in the past 48 hours, please don’t bring him/her to the nursery or classes in Logos Kids.
      • Fever
      • Vomiting
      • Diarrhea
      • Green or Cloudy Runny Nose
      • Inflamed Throat or Mouth
      • Runny or Pink Eyes
      • Croup, Coughing, or Sneezing
      • Any Skin Infections such as Boils, Unexplained Rash, Staph, Ringworms, or Impetigo
      • Symptoms of Childhood Diseases (i.e. Scarlet Fever, Mumps, Chicken Pox, or Measles)
  • Every Sunday each child is checked in on a computer system which generates a sticker for the child and a matching one for the parent.  Each child wears the sticker to class and when a parent picks up their child, they must present the matching sticker in order for the child to be released to the parent.
  • Siblings are not allowed to present the sticker for pick-up. Other adults may do so, but please let the teacher know ahead of time if a different adult is picking up the child than the one who dropped them off.
  • Safety doors block off the hallways to the children’s classrooms, and they are locked 15 minutes after the service begins and remain locked until the service ends. Someone will be present to unlock them in case a parent needs to access a child in an emergency.
  • All Logos Kids volunteers and staff have undergone background checks and passed a course on child abuse awareness/prevention.
  • All Logos Kids volunteers are asked to attend Logos 101, agree to the Logos doctrinal statement, fill out an application and to attend training sessions twice a year.
  • There are cameras in all the classrooms and nursery which are motion sensitive and always on.
  • Should anything happen to a child in a classroom (ex: one child hits another), a safety report will be filled out for all the parties involved and parents will be informed/contacted.
  • Logos has a first aid kit available, as well as a team of medical professionals in case of a medical emergency.
  • In case of a physical safety issue, Logos has a team of safety volunteers prepared to assist as needed.
